Love Unlike Any Other-Part 2

We are currently in the “love” month of February. Couples everywhere have celebrated the love they have for each other with an overflow of gifts and affection. Romantic trips have been taken with thoughtful gestures and pleasant surprises being exchanged everywhere you look. Love is such a beautiful thing. A couple of weeks ago, as I was pondering on this reality, I couldn’t help but think about the greatest love of all. I began to wonder how many people, if any, had stopped to think about the best and most beautiful relationship that exists; the relationship with their first love. Not with someone they can tangibly touch and that they’ve shared earthly memories with, but rather the love they share with the very essence of their essence; with the one who created them and allowed them a wonderful opportunity to experience life in its fullest. Love for the one who never stops thinking about us or filling our lives with good things. And who is constantly working in our lives to turn all things around in a way that ultimately benefits and blesses us. As I reflected upon these remarkable truths, my heart was immediately filled with gratitude, which led me to write a poem about God’s great love, based entirely on scripture. And so, as a way of continuing the celebration of this “Love Unlike Any Other,” I wanted to reference the scriptures and six insights that came to mind as I wrote this poem about His love for you in my last blogpost. We can never be reminded too much!

1. There is None Like the Lord

Jeremiah 10:6

No one is like you, Lord; you are great, and your name is mighty in power.

1 Kings 8:23

Lord, the God of Israel, there is no God like you in heaven above or on earth below-you who keep your covenant of love with your servants who continue wholeheartedly in your way.

2. Nothing Can Separate Us from His Sacrificial Love

Romans 8:38, 39

For I am convinced that nothing can separate us from God’s love. Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither our fears for today or our worries for tomorrow, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

1 John 4:9

By this the love of God was manifested in us, that God has sent His only begotten Son into the world so that we might live through Him. In this is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His son to be the propitiation for our sins.

John 3:16

For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him will not perish but have eternal life.

3. He Sees You and Searches for You

2 Chronicles 16:9

For the eyes of the Lord range throughout the earth to strengthen those whose hearts are fully committed to Him.

Job 31:4

Does He not see my ways and count my every step?

Jeremiah 16:17

My eyes are on all their ways; they are not hidden from me.

Deuteronomy 31:6

He will never leave you nor forsake you.

Zephaniah 3:17

The Lord your God is with you; the mighty warrior who saves. He will take great delight in you; in His love he will no longer rebuke you, but will rejoice over you with singing.

4. He Wants Your Heart

Proverbs 23:26

My son, give me your heart and let your eyes delight in my ways.

Matthew 22:37

Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul, and all your mind.

5. You’re Always On His Mind

Psalm 139:17-18

How precious to me are your thoughts, God! How vast is the sum of them!

Psalm 8:4

What is man that you are mindful of him?

6. His Love Never Ceases

Isaiah 54:10

My unfailing love for you will not be shaken nor my covenant of peace be removed.

Jeremiah 31:3

I have loved you with an everlasting love; I have drawn you with unfailing kindness.

Exodus 15:13

With your unfailing love you will lead the people you have redeemed.

Dear reader, it doesn’t matter whether you’re married or single, young or old;

God’s love for you runs deeper than anyone else’s. He knows you better than anyone else does. His love is flawless and unfailing. I pray that you keep these monumental truths in mind and realize just how valuable and cherished you are. I also hope that you will keep Him at the center of your life. Nothing makes God happier than for His people to reciprocate the love and honor He has for them. He’s always seeking your heart... are you seeking His?

MOVE. MEASURE. MARCH.

March On!
